The Air Tech has a small, wide third prong behind the second point, allowing for 10 prongs for normal walking and 12 prongs for traversing. All prongs are designed to be short for use on ice and rocks. They are also lightweight and compact to store. The front part is Grivel's unique "Clamp-Automatic". The spring effect secures them firmly in the boot's welt groove. The Automatic SP is a model that uses the SP (Special Narrow) bail, narrowing the bail width to 82mm to accommodate recent alpine boots with narrow toes. The spring plate "The Moretta" attached to the rear part is made of stainless steel and can be easily lifted with your fingers, allowing for smooth size adjustment.
