When it comes to shinoggling during the hot and humid summer, you need an active layer that has the functionality to support your physical performance and is strong enough to withstand the stress of shinoggling. Hachiju Hachiya was developed for this purpose, and it uses a hybrid material designed with merino wool on the side that faces the skin and polyester on the surface. We started using the predecessor of this material in 2015, and in 2019, with the cooperation of a material manufacturer, we made it lighter and the current Hachiju Hachiya material is now available. Since then, Hachiju Hachiya has continued to use this material, which has sweat management, odor resistance, strength and lightness. It is difficult to find such a well-balanced material, and after using it for many years we have come to know the qualities of this material very well. Hachiju Hachiya is an active layer that uses merino wool on the skin side and sweat-absorbing polyester on the surface. When climbing a steep ridge, the wool on the skin side stores the sweat that shoots out, while actively dispersing it to the surface to dry it. In addition, you can experience the functionality of merino wool in that it is less likely to drip or leave a sweaty smell. This highly functional layer has a hybrid structure, but also has a calm side, dyed in deep traditional Japanese colors. It can be worn comfortably from around the 88th night of the year when it starts to get warm, until autumn begins to arrive. Since the collar is designed to fit together, it is best to wear it alone if possible. By being prepared to layer with a Hagoromo or Kunado depending on the situation, you can maintain your physical performance. When you arrive at the hammock point to rest, you can put on an Octa haorimono to absorb sweat and prevent catching a cold. This hybrid material, which has merino wool on the skin side and sweat-absorbing polyester on the surface, absorbs sweat using the wool's moisture absorption and regulating properties, and then the sweat-absorbing polyester on the surface diffuses and evaporates it. Even though it is not 100% wool, wool has strong antibacterial and deodorizing properties, so it will not remain soaked or drip with sweat like 100% wool material.
