The Ghillie Kettle is a type of traditional British outdoor water heater that has been used for a long time in the UK and Ireland. This kettle is characterized by its design that can boil water quickly using natural fuels (such as twigs and pine cones) without using fire. Its history continues as follows: ■Origin and development: The origin of the Ghillie Kettle is closely related to the Kelly Kettle, which was used by Irish and British fishermen and hunters from the late 19th century to the early 20th century as a tool to boil water efficiently in natural environments. The Kelly Kettle, used by Irish fishermen in cold climates, had a hollow tube like a chimney inside, just like the Ghillie Kettle, and was able to boil water quickly with less fuel. This design was later improved and became known as the Ghillie Kettle, a design more suitable for outdoor use in general, and became widespread. ■Origin of the name: "Ghillie" is a Scottish word meaning "hunting guide" or "fisherman." As the name suggests, the Ghillie Kettle was used by people who hunted, fished, and camped in the wilds of Scotland and northern England. For them, the Ghillie Kettle was a useful tool for quickly boiling water using natural materials. ■ Evolution of structure and function: The Ghillie Kettle has a hollow tube in the center that acts as a chimney, and is designed to be filled with water around the tube. When twigs or pine cones are placed in the combustion chamber and lit, the rising air current passing through the tube amplifies the heat and boils the water in a short time. This efficient design was highly praised by outdoor enthusiasts throughout the 20th century and continues to be used to this day. ■Modern use and appreciation: The Ghillie Kettle is still used by outdoor enthusiasts, campers and survival enthusiasts in the UK and around the world. Its structure has remained largely unchanged, but improvements have been made to its durability and range of sizes. This kettle does not use gas or oil, but uses natural fuels such as leaves and twigs. The chimney effect can boil water in just a few minutes. The main body comes with a neoprene sleeve, so you can carry it around safely even after boiling. *When carrying water or hot water, please attach the stopper to the kettle. *When boiling water, remove the stopper and place the kettle on the stove. *You can also use a spirit burner (Trangia, White Box, Evernew, etc.) instead of natural fuel. Made from aluminum, it is lighter than stainless steel and therefore easier to transport. Please bring it with you when doing solo camping or bushcraft. Weight: Approx. 0.4kg Size: 0.53L
