Outdoor Research is an outdoor brand founded in Seattle, USA in 1981. As the brand name suggests, the brand is based on the concept of an "outdoor laboratory." It has consistently developed gear that solves problems from a scientific perspective, conducting actual testing in harsh mountain environments. The company was founded after a mountaineering accident on Denali, North America's highest peak, when founder Ron Gregg realized the need for gear he could trust with his life and developed his own gaiters and overboots.
