Arc'teryx's most functional fleece hoody. Ultra-lightweight yet with excellent temperature regulation. This fleece was developed through a joint project based on TEIJIN's "OCTA." OCTA is a polyester fiber with an octopus-like cross section, consisting of hollow fibers with holes and eight protrusions arranged in a radial pattern. It is approximately half the weight of regular polyester fibers. It allows water and sweat to pass through easily, and is highly breathable and quick-drying, providing a smooth, comfortable feel. The unique fiber shape provides excellent insulation, preventing chills caused by sweat and maintaining warmth even when damp. The fleece used in this joint development has a shorter pile length of 1mm compared to the standard 2mm thick OCTA, and the mesh surface is also softer. The previous OCTA was made with a soft shell outer layer to enhance wind resistance, and used a slightly rough fabric. The new OCTA's mesh surface has been updated to the more durable "DELTAPEAK" fabric, which provides improved resistance to scratches and abrasions. The 1mm thick OCTA is cut in half using advanced techniques unique to Japanese factories, further improving breathability. The high breathability provides coolness and moderate heat retention, maintaining a comfortable temperature and allowing you to wear it less often while on the move. This lightweight, durable, comfortable, thermoregulating, and compact piece is also appealing. It can be easily layered with a jacket when it's cold, and its sophisticated design makes it perfect for everyday use as well as activities and training.
