Introducing a simple yet practical daypack typical of CRUX. ■ Clever features that are easy to use while eliminating waste The box-shaped MAG28 has no unnecessary features; it only has a main compartment and two large pockets that are too large to be called front pockets. There are no side or internal pockets, and it even omits a chest strap. The 420-denier TPU nylon fabric is heat-sealed and molded, providing extremely high waterproof performance, and the zippers are, of course, water-resistant. Access to each compartment is via a large YKK zipper that opens 270°, making it exceptionally easy to use. ■ Stiff fabric looks good even when empty The photos show insulation and a synthetic sleeping bag packed inside, but the latter half of the photos show the bag empty. The stiff fabric has the advantage of not collapsing easily when placed on the ground and making it easy to open and close the bag. The coating also provides excellent abrasion resistance and stain resistance. ■ Not completely waterproof The zipper parts are reinforced with water-resistant + TPU heat-sealing, but the space between the double zipper sliders is a weak point, and water may seep inside in heavy rain or under water pressure. It can withstand light rain, but please understand that it is intended for daily use and day hikes. ■ Stealth design with minimal embellishments and external attachments The "stripped-down" details characteristic of CRUX are still present, making this simple yet spacious pack a rare find. This pack was actually one of the first in CRUX's lineup and is still a long-selling product. It's rare to see such a bravely simple design elsewhere. That's the strength of the MAG28, and I feel it's a great appeal of CRUX.
