First, we started by asking ourselves, "What is the item we wear most throughout the year?" The answer was definitely nylon wind shells such as Patagonia's Houdini Jacket and Arcteryx's Squamish Jacket. However, these were mainly used as shells to wear while on the move, and many were difficult to coordinate with other items when worn around town because the size was too tight or the fabric was not firm enough, making them look unfashionable.So what we aimed for was a wind shell that could be worn like a jacket with a shirt-like feel, created from a new perspective as something that was "halfway between a soft shell and a jacket." Although the base is simple, the large width and silhouette that widens towards the hem, and the sleeves that are rounded from the thick elbows towards the hem create a unique sense of balance. The wide hem can be worn as is, or you can use the elastic and adjuster at the hem to tighten it up and tuck the hem in to shorten the length for a rounded balloon silhouette. At first glance, it looks like a regular raglan sleeve, but incorporating traditional tailoring techniques, the pattern of a classic Balmacaan coat has been redesigned to allow for greater freedom of movement. The in-curves and out-curves are intricately intersected to create a three-dimensional silhouette. This eliminates the difficulty of lifting your arms, which is common with jackets with a wide body, and dramatically improves arm movement, especially forward and backward. The diagonally positioned pockets have a large opening and capacity for smooth and direct access. The fabric is 100% nylon ripstop sheer material. It is an extremely thin fabric at 42g/㎡. It has a good balance of letting in and blocking out the wind, is breathable so you won't feel stuffy even when wearing it for a long time, and dries quickly without sticking to your skin even when you sweat, making it an all-around, easy-to-use, stable fabric.
