Weight-wise, the shell contains Dyneema, which is stronger and lighter than not only steel but also aramid fiber, and is extremely abrasion-resistant and durable.Although it has a paper-like feel, it provides the same level of security as a thicker shell when scraping against rocks or cutting through bushes. Westcomb is the first in the industry to use a 3-layer fabric with a backing attached to this Dyneema composite. Although the lining adds weight, it improves comfort and durability while still remaining lightweight enough for a shell. The membrane used is eVent (DValpine), which is known for its high breathability. The side zipper not only makes it easier to put on and take off, but also serves as ventilation. In addition, the drawstring adjustments at the neck and hem use the Cohaesive system, which makes it easy to operate even with winter gloves on. The kangaroo pocket on the stomach also has an inner mesh pocket on the inside, which is useful for warming electronic devices or storing hand warmers. Although this is a niche anorak, it does not compromise on its functionality as a waterproof shell, and yet is lightweight at 270g for a size S and has excellent packability.
