These trail shoes give you two different sensations. Lightweight, with a sticky grip on any terrain, and a secure hold that wraps around your feet. With this update, the upper material has been changed to fit more feet and improve comfort. (The round shape provides a snug, enveloping hold, while remaining the same!) The upper side has also been changed, increasing strength and improving the fit. The lug pattern on the outsole has been revised to provide more multi-directional grip. Another major feature of the Superior is that the Stone Guard that is usually built in is removable. This new Stone Guard has been significantly improved to be lighter, more breathable, and provide better protection where you need it most. You can experience two completely different sensations with just one pair of shoes: sometimes you remove the Stone Guard to sharpen your sense of touch and use your toes properly, and sometimes you put the Stone Guard on to protect your feet from pressure from below. Therefore, you can first try running without the Stone Guard to strengthen your toes, and then wear the Stone Guard when running in areas with lots of stones or when racing. The lightweight and firm-holding Superior 5 is perfect for practicing footwork on downhill slopes, making it a highly recommended shoe for beginners as well as advanced skiers.
