GRANITE GEAR presents the HIKER SATCHEL, a small sacoche shoulder bag perfect for carrying small items like a cell phone or wallet. The word "sacoche" originally referred to a lightweight shoulder bag designed for road race supplies. At Granite Gear, we refer to sacoches as "satchels." Granite Gear satchels are made from 30D Silnylon Cordura, making them lightweight and weather-resistant. The zippered closure provides a secure hold, even when carrying items you need quick access to, like a camera or amenity kit. This versatile Silnylon pouch is the perfect size for storing frequently used items when hiking on serious trails, or for carrying valuables and amenities at campsites and mountain huts. The detachable strap can be replaced with a thin cord to reduce weight, or removed and used as a storage bag inside the pack. The exterior map pocket has a small Velcro closure to prevent items other than maps from falling out. There are also dividers inside the main body to help organize small items. It also comes with an internal keychain. The Silnylon used is 30-denier ripstop nylon that has been coated and impregnated with silicone on both sides. It is an extremely lightweight and strong material. It also has a very smooth surface and is highly waterproof. Unlike other waterproof materials that are coated on only one side or only on the surface, 30D Silnylon Cordura is coated on both sides and has the silicone impregnated into the fibers, making it extremely flexible, smooth, and waterproof for long-lasting use.
